The information collected depends on the ReefMaster features you choose to use.
Account information
If you create an account, ReefMaster may collect information such as your name or display name, email address, account identifiers and authentication information required to securely access your account.
Reef aquarium information
ReefMaster may store information you enter about your aquarium, including tank name and volume, water parameters, parameter history, fish and coral records, equipment, maintenance records, tasks, reminders, notes and journal entries.
Photos and images
If you choose to use photo-based features, ReefMaster may process photographs or screenshots that you upload, including test kit photos, parameter screenshots, livestock photos and aquarium images. Camera or photo-library access is requested only when needed for a feature you choose to use.
AI interactions
When you use AI-powered features such as the Reef Assistant or Reef Reports, information you submit may be processed to generate the requested response. This may include questions, tank parameters, livestock information, maintenance information and images you choose to analyse.
2. Technical and Usage Information
ReefMaster and service providers used to operate the app may receive limited technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, application identifiers, IP address, crash information, diagnostics, performance information and general app usage information.
This information may be used to maintain the service, troubleshoot problems, improve performance, prevent misuse and understand how ReefMaster is being used.
3. How We Use Information
Information may be used to:
- Provide and operate ReefMaster.
- Store and display aquarium records.
- Track water parameters and show history or trends.
- Generate Reef Reports and AI-assisted information.
- Provide fish, coral or maintenance suggestions.
- Process test-kit photos and screenshots.
- Manage livestock records, tasks and reminders.
- Perform calculations requested by you.
- Maintain account security and diagnose technical problems.
- Improve ReefMaster's functionality and usability.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Artificial Intelligence
ReefMaster may use artificial intelligence to analyse aquarium information and provide suggestions, summaries, reports and educational information. Information submitted to AI-powered features may be transmitted to third-party AI service providers where necessary to provide the feature you requested.
AI-generated information may be inaccurate or incomplete and should not replace appropriate aquarium testing, manufacturer instructions, professional advice or your own judgement.
5. Notifications
If you enable notifications, ReefMaster may use notification identifiers to send maintenance reminders, task notifications, aquarium-related alerts or other notifications relating to features you have enabled. Notifications can be disabled at any time through your device settings.
6. Third-Party Service Providers
ReefMaster may use third-party providers for services such as cloud hosting, database storage, authentication, artificial intelligence, push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, app distribution and payment or subscription processing.
These providers may process information only as required to provide their services. Their handling of information may also be governed by their own privacy policies.
ReefMaster does not sell your personal information.
7. Purchases and Subscriptions
If ReefMaster offers paid features or subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play, payment transactions are generally processed by the applicable app store. ReefMaster does not receive your full payment-card details from the app store, but may receive purchase or subscription status information needed to provide purchased features.
8. Sharing of Information
Information may be shared where reasonably necessary with service providers that help operate ReefMaster, when you authorise sharing, to investigate security issues or misuse, when required by law, or in connection with a business sale, merger or restructuring subject to appropriate privacy protections.
We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
9. Data Storage and Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, no internet-based service or electronic storage system can guarantee absolute security.
10. Data Retention
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide ReefMaster, maintain accounts, meet legitimate operational requirements, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, and comply with applicable legal requirements.
11. Account and Data Deletion
Where ReefMaster provides user accounts, you may request deletion of your account and associated personal information through any deletion feature provided in the app or by contacting ReefMaster.
Some limited information may be retained where reasonably necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention or regulatory purposes.
12. Your Choices
Depending on the features you use, you may choose whether to upload photographs, decline camera or photo-library permissions, disable notifications, edit or remove aquarium records, and request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information.
13. Children's Privacy
ReefMaster is intended for general aquarium hobby use and is not specifically directed at young children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children contrary to applicable law.
14. International Data Processing
Some service providers used by ReefMaster may operate servers or process information outside your country of residence. As a result, information may be processed in jurisdictions with different privacy laws.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as ReefMaster develops or when legal, technical or operational requirements change. The latest version will be made available on this page and the “Last updated” date will be revised.
